Four Corners Storm to Impact Millions with Snow, Ice, Flooding

The same storm that resulted in mudslides in the Los Angeles area on Saturday is crossing the Four Corners region today, dropping rain and mountain snow. The storm will spread a significant, disruptive snow across the nation's midsection through tonight. By midweek, snow may return to areas hit hard by the "Blizzard of 2010". A zone of treacherous ice will develop farther south, threatening travel and perhaps even power outages. This storm will also cause the next round of flooding rain and perhaps even severe storms from Texas through the Deep South. Full Story

Another significant snowfall on the way
February 8th, 2010 by Steven DiMartino

Here we go again! Another major winter storm has a target for the northern Mid Atlantic with the potential for another one to two feet of snow for many locations in the New York City and Philadelphia metropolitan area along with very strong winds and near zero visibility for Wednesday morning.

I'm seeing all sorts of forecasts for Western PA -- some say 6 inches plus, others say 6-12, one (Pittsburgh Post Gazette) called for 3", and another said 1-2 inches.

I have a reading, my first of the year, at a little dive bar in Oakland, and from what I'm hearing, there's no safe places to park yet. Even the bus routes are limited. What to do, what to do...?

yes sugah the numbers are wide spread cause they have you on the edge of the heavy stuff right now. its up in the air, no pun intended. here is official noaa for pitt-----...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN
EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING EASTWARD THROUGH THE UPPER
OHIO VALLEY TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY MAY BRING MORE THAN 6 INCHES
OF SNOW ACCUMULATION THIS PERIOD. A SHORT PERIOD OF MIXED WINTRY
PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 70 LATE TUESDAY.

THERE IS STILL MUCH UNCERTAINTY WITH THE EXACT TRACK AND TIMING
OF THE STORM...BOTH OF WHICH WILL GREATLY AFFECT SNOWFALL
ACCUMULATIONS.

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WINTER STORM WATCH MEANS THERE IS A
POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOW...SLEET...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS
THAT MAY IMPACT TRAVEL...AS WELL AS CONTINUED SNOW CLEARING AND
POWER RESTORATION EFFORTS.

good luck
